| Overview: |
A true wilderness property within minutes of civilization is a rarity before one ever takes note of its most unique characteristic - access to Egypt Falls. A towering expanse of water 80' wide cascades over stepped cliffs cradling large pools of water so clear you can see the bottom in minute detail through depths up to 12 feet. A copious amount of water passes over the falls then flows through this lovely property as Matheson's Brook for 600 meters before continuing its journey to the S. W. Margaree River. Much of the land near the brook is level and home to some of the largest trees in Nova Scotia. A carpet of leaf litter underfoot, canopy of forest giants overhead, lush ferns brushing against your legs; the roaring falls ahead and bubbling brook nearby, you will know what the world was like when nature was unfettered. To have this experience and see the property, please contact Tom. While a 100 year old grassy road in good condition goes 3/4 of the way over sloping terrain, a ten minute walk through the forest is required to reach the falls. Bathing suit and camera optional, good outdoor shoes necessary.

| Comments: |
- Egypt Falls is also known as Piper's Glen Falls
-
The falls lie within a valley of hardwood forest and have strong flow during any time of year. Egypt Falls has a unique wide appearance and two levels of pools. Both pools are deep enough for swimming.
-
The falls were originally called Appin Falls, named after the Steward family of Appin, Scotland, who settled near the falls in the 1800's.
-
These 110 acres are surrounded by both Crown land and privately held land.
- Many years ago, a small part of this property was part of a farm.
-
The closest village is Scotsville; also close is the village of Whycocomagh. The closest town is Inverness.
-
This property is Grant #17537.
