CHETICAMP: Versatile Cheticamp Salon & Apartment |
A compact and typical Cheticamp building located on the town's waterfront that has been lovingly cared for and presents well. For years a small hairdressing salon, the ground floor is still arranged attractively as a salon, while the second floor has a very comfortable and pleasant bachelor apartment. The commercial aspect of the building strongly suggest a continuation of the salon, but there are a number of possibilities for alternative use. The ground floor could be converted to being a small art gallery or studio, maintaining the present upstairs as living area, or even a woodworking shop, with owner's quarters above. The building is in good shape, the full bathroom being on the ground floor, with modern fixtures, but with some changes upstairs a second bathroom could be placed above the first. Overlooking the water from the rear, Cheticamp Island is just across the bay, with fishing boats regularly passing to or from the banks. An expansion to the rear is possible. |

The original log constructed house from the 1950s has been meticulously upgraded and expanded within a more contemporary building leaving the rustic charm and comfort of the log interior complimented by a large stone fireplace and a Finnish style wood stove. The master bedroom suite is very spacious with adjoining exercise room, bath and sauna. There is a large ground floor second bedroom and an attached two car garage. An expansive front deck overlooks the lake with over 700 feet of accessible shoreline. Fall colors in the lake are amongst the most brilliant in North America. Fishing and sailing on this largest fresh water lake in the Maritimes (12.5 x 3 miles) is both fun and challenging. A return to the house and a relaxing sauna completes the day. With the main house, a guest house, smaller guest cottage and some outbuildings, this property is attractive to large or extended family groups. Substantial additional acreage comprised of both woodlots and waterfront available |
CAP LEMOINE: Gazebo on the Gulf (and 50 acres) |
This is a beautiful partially forested parcel which has a waterfront, but is rocky and high, and not buildable on the waterfront due to septic regulations. The 45 acres, however, certainly are buildable. Lovely views of the Gulf and sunsets from above the road as the land slopes gently uphill. There is a brook that runs along the front of the land and the footings for a bridge across the brook from some prior period on the neighboring (north) property. Leveling off somewhat as one moves back up the property, the potential for clearings suggest a variety of uses, or even a subdivision of the land, and further housing. Further back the land climbs again, where there is the possibility of harvesting the wood. .The Gazebo on the front (waterside) is part of the property, having been built by the vendors |
LAKE AINSLIE: Unique 200 Acre Ecosystem with Lake Front |
This 200 acre unique water front ecosystem is very well documented due to a recent naturalist/wood cruiser's report being available. The land is located very near the Inverness or North end of Lake Ainslie's East side with 1350 feet of lake shore and rises gradually to impressive heights and a truly magnificent panoramic view of the lake and surrounding hills. The extensive acreage in between shore and hill top is diverse, interesting and, in part, unique in the area. There are old farm fields, various woodlots, a brook and a unique wetlands area with rare plants. There are old trails and numerous signs of wildlife, including moose, deer and bear. This large tract of land has many possible building sites and many potential uses for a new owner. A very detailed report compiled by a professional wood cruiser and naturalist is available |
